I am a lifelong, raised in the trenches (Father was Mel Price’s right-hand man-he ran E. St. Louis and was a precinct committeeman from Mascoutah), dyed in the wool democrat. I have voted for you in the past, and will continue to do so. I will also post your feeds to my FB. The nature of this communication, is to lift you up. I am a modern woman with old world roots, I can’t be the only one. I thoroughly agree with your stance on birth control. If a person is having relations outside the bonds of marriage, and does not desire to become a parent, they are behaving in a promiscuous manner. Should they be married, and not desire pregnancy, the rhythm method works well. If a woman has an abortion (even in the case of rape or incest), the child is the most innocent party in that triangle. Therefore, for him/her to pay the ultimate and brutal price of death and dismemberment speaks to the dark, cold place that the soul of America has transported itself to, via ’women’s rights’ and where good men to do nothing, as evil triumphs. You are doing a wonderful job. May God bless you and yours. Thank you for your service to our district. VOTE TRUMP TOO!!! I would like to volunteer, but have recently lost my vision (due to a botched brain surgery), and as a consequence, my career and driving privileges. Let me know if there is something my limitations won’t prohibit.

I watched your video on Youtube. Thank you for asking the questions. More importantly, exposing the system that has ruined our State.

I’m sorry, when are you going to run for Governor? I can hardly listen to the"politicians" that are running this broke state of Illinois into more red! Are you the only one that has the intelligence to realize STOP spending money on ridiculous things? Do the “politicians” in Illinois think we are THAT stupid? Sometimes I think that’s more annoying. People worry about the these kids today, they are taking over running the country in a few years; I seriously doubt that they could do any worse. Please do this state a favor and go as far as you can to save the people of this state. Sincerely, Sharon

I saw the post of you asking Rep. Flynn questions about budget line items..NICE WORK!! I know you and others have your work cut out for you, but at least you made it clear to all that the other side really doesn’t care about tax payer money. Keep making them try and defend the indefensible…made her look ridiculous!!

Please don’t send volunteers to my home. I will not be voting for you.

    Dwight,

Thank you for your video response on the ridiculous budget proposed by the Madigan Democrats! Please keep us informed by posting these sessions and comments for us taxpayers.

How about posting the elected officials by party that have been in office since our last balanced budget for all to see WHO put us in the position Illinois is in..

Thanks again for all your doing to support us.

Finally – a politician with some common sense. Nice work questioning the budget! Keep the pressure on, Illinois will soon be bankrupt!

We need more people like Dwight Kay, he speaks the truth and is not afraid telling it how it is. The way he spoke about the state budget was bad ass.

Go get ‘em’ Representative Kay! I’ll be e-mailing Currie Flynn next. I am so tired of these so-called “legislators” treating we Illinoisians as if we are stupid. The gall! I read Mr. Mark Hupp’s comment to you with interest. Not only are Madigan and Co. guilty of at the very least gross mismanagement, but I suspect that once this mismanagement is probed, we’ll find that there is criminal action to be accounted for. Mr. Madigan is, as you probably already know, unreachable via e-mail, etc. I’d be willing to bet that if I sent him a letter, it would come back “addressee unknown”. What’s he afraid of?

Sir, I recently watched your discussion with State Representative Currie about the state budget. I am originally from Lake County but have been living in Texas since 1998. I applaud you on your stance and am embarrassed to but not shocked at the responses that Rep. Currie gave you. Keep up the good work sir our state needs more leaders like you.

Keep up the good fight…not in your district, but I saw how you challenged the criminals who are trying to ram that insane budget through. We need more representatives like you.

I just watched your “six minutes” of questions regarding the budget…and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! I am so glad you are representing Illinois…what is going on in Springfield? I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your dedication! Run for higher office!!!!

I just read the transcript of your questioning of Barbara Flynn Currie regarding the state budget that was recently presented. I am in shock. We are talking about a multi-billion dollar budget and a state that is out of money. You were absolutely correct that each line item should be reviewed for what is essential! I am disgusted with Barbara Flynn Currie and her responses to you. Please keep up the effort to hold these people accountable and stop spending money that they don’t have. You have my support and I hope that there are more reps out there like you.

Thank you for your excellent and honest questions directed to the Democratic majority leader Rep. Currie as you challenged a small number of line items in the $7 billion over budget spending bill that speaker Madigan has proposed. I only wish there were more of you in the State of Illinois House. My Representative (Cloonan) voted for the ridiculous budget at at a time when we as a state are “penniless” as you succinctly stated to Rep. Currie. Thanks again. Keep up the pressure — I want to continue living here in Illinois.

    Representative Kay -

I watched with disgust your interaction attacking the budget in session on May 25. I was proud of your arguments and ashamed to be a taxpayer in Illinois who has has to finance this mess.

I say to you: continue to fight, continue to shed light on these fiscal embarrassments, and continue to throw reason on their false financial constructs.

Know that so much of the great state of Illinois supports men and women like you and count on you to do what is right. Keep up the good fight!

    Keep pushing,

    Tom Allen

In this morning’s Chicago Tribune, we just read the transcript of your questioning of Barbara Flynn Currie regarding the state budget that was recently presented. Thank you for trying to bring common sense and responsibility to a legislature that too frequently lacks both. We appreciate your efforts and your willingness to truly serve the people of Illinois.

Thank you so much for the wonderful questioning of Rep. Barbara Currie highlighted in today’s Chicago Tribune. Her responses just don’t make sense, do they? No wonder we are in the mess we are in. I like the way you operate. You should be running things in Illinois. We’d have better services and probably lower taxes to boot.

    Thanks again,

I’m very proud how you stuck it to the speaker! We need more of you! My favorite part was " Which Governor"?

THANK YOU for challenging Currie about this year’s budget. You are a voice of reason, and I appreciate your work in our state’s government. Keep on fighting the good fight.

    Mr. Kay:

Just saw a video of your questioning the budget. YOU ARE RIGHT to question it. How do we fix it?
  • commented 2016-05-28 10:54:04 -0500
    Dear Rep. Kay,

I was pleased to see a video recently that shows you asking questions on line items on the Illinois budget. I can only wish that we had more people like yourself to represent the people of Illinois. Maybe then we could get things under control. Even though I am not in your district it makes me proud to see that someone is willing to ask the tough and sensible questions that need to be asked. Please continue to do what you are doing and maybe others will follow your lead and we can get our mess under control!!

    Respectfully,

    Steven N. Turnquist

    Dear Rep. Kay,

I just saw your “discussion” with Leader Currie regarding the budget, and the state fair. I enjoy the state fair as much as the next person, however, I agree that when an institution is without money it needs to cut unessential spending.

I am not in your district, but I grew up just one district away in Vandalia,IL. You and I disagree on some issues, but it is my hope and prayer that IL legislators can come together, and agree on things that this. Items in the budget that are so obviously unessential to the running of the state should be unanimously agreed upon to be eliminated until the state is not longer in this situation. Thank you for your work on this front.

    Sir -

Just watched your fantastic questioning on the budget and I’d like to say I have never heard of you prior to about an hour ago but you have my fullest support in continuing that type of much needed conduct in what seems to be a legislation totally out of touch with reality. Thank you again and keep up the great work !

As an Illinois taxpayer, I want to thank you for addressing Barbara Flynn Currie regarding the recent state budget proposal. You asked Ms. Currie the questions I would have. Unfortunately, she couldn’t or wouldn’t respond.

Please continue to hold politicians like Ms. Currie accountable. I am appalled at the proposed spending in this budget, without thought or consideration of the debt we already have. It seems as though Ms. Currie is happy “rubber stamping” whatever Speaker Madigan proposes.

Mr. Representative, I have been a registered Democrat for all of my voting life. Your questioning of Rep. Barbara Currie just earned you my support. Finally someone questioning wasted pork barrel projects in a state where we struggle to properly fund education and where we are in deficit spending despite our debt. I am a trustee in the Village of Pontoon Beach Illinois. If there is anything I can do to further your cause to argue for common sense government and a business approach to spending I would be most happy and proud to help. Keep up the good work.
